To meet the above production requirement, oxygen probe is designedas a kind of metallurgy detection probe of measuring the oxygencontent in molten steel and the temperature of molten steel.
1.3.1 Application: Used for primary melting furnace,LF and RHfurnaces, oxygen probes measure oxygen activity of the molten steelin the treating process, which can guarantee the deoxidizeraddition, shorten the refining time, help develop new varieties,improve technology, and promote steel purity.
1.3.2 Main features and range of application: Oxygen probe has twotypes: high oxygen probe and low oxygen probe. The former is usedto measure the temperature and high oxygen content of molten steelin converter, electric furnace, refining furnace. The later is usedto measure the temperature and low oxygen content of molten steelin LF, RH, DH, tundish, etc. and also quickly measure acid solublealuminum.
1.3.3 Principle: "Solid dielectric concentration celloxygen-content test technology" is applied in oxygen probe, whichallows to measure the temperature and oxygen content of moltensteel at the same time. Oxygen probe consists of half-cell andthermocouple. Solid dielectric concentration cell oxygen-contenttest is composed of two half-cells. wherein one is known referencecell of known oxygen partial pressure, and the other is the moltensteel. The two half-cells are connected by oxygen ions solidelectrolyte, forming an oxygen concentration cell. Oxygen contentcan be calculated from the measured oxygen potential andtemperature of the molten steel.
1.3.4 Features: 1) The oxygen activity of the molten steel can bemeasured directly and rapidly, which is helpful to determine theamount of the deoxidizing agent, and improve the operation of thedeoxidation.
2) The oxygen probe is easy to operate. Measurement results can beobtained just 5-10s after inserting it into the molten steel.

Oxygen sensor has three types:
1) Oxygen sensor for high ppm
2) Oxygen sensor for low ppm .
3) Oxygen sensor for ultra-low ppm.
The first one is used to measure the temperature and high oxygencontent of molten steel in converter, electric furnace, refiningfurnace. The second one is used to measure the temperature and lowoxygen content of molten steel in LF, RH, DH, tundish, etc. andalso quickly measure acid soluble aluminum. The third one issuitable for the steel smelting process which require the ultra-lowoxygen content.
3. Principle:
"Solid dielectric concentration cell oxygen-content testtechnology" is applied in oxygen sensor, which allows to measurethe temperature and oxygen content of molten steel at the sametime. Oxygen sensor consists of oxygen cell and thermocouple.Oxygen content can be calculated from the measured oxygen potentialand temperature of the molten steel.
